The Winnipeg National Bank Challenger presented by Volvo is Canada's fourth-largest professional tennis tournament.The Winnipeg National Bank Challenger is a Men's and Women's tier two tennis tournament (players ranked 45 - 200 in the world) with $100,000 in prize money.This event has grown each year and in 2017, Tennis Canada gifted, both a men's and women's Challenger, to double the size of the tournament. There are approximately 92 entrants from around the world. Last year, 32 countries were represented.This tournament is operated with the assistance of Tennis Canada, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Some of past winners have gone on to be quarter-finalists for the French Open and Wimbledon, meaning that the next step up from this tournament is the "Grand Slam Tournaments".(Free admission for July 8 and 9 qualifying rounds).
