A sensory, sciencey experience in beer.As part of Science Odyssey Week, scientists and beer enthusiasts meet at the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre for this adults-only night of experiments and merriment.Tour the malthouse and brewing house, then head to the lab to plunge into different worlds of science and history.You'll meet a microbiologist, a neuroscientist, a medieval historian, and a chemist, who will take turns guiding you through beer and brewing as it connects to each of their areas of expertise – whether it's focused on the organisms that carry out the miraculous transformation of starch into alcohol, or the bubbles that tickle your tongue and tastebuds, or the historical significance of beer, or how corn, an under-utilized crop, can be used to brew gluten-free beer.Includes two flights of local handcrafted beer paired with appetizers.
