Recent Work By Allison Moore & Catherine Teichroew

Recent Work by Allison Moore & Catherine Teichroew Allison Moore is a Winnipeg artist who works in a variety of mediums: painting, drawing, collage and photography. She finds inspiration in the world around her, whether it is the natural world or manufactured objects. Through Allison Moore's multiple layers of images and a variety of media, her art attempts to synthesize her lived experiences. These moments and eras hover between the personal to the universal; they reside between beauty and drift into apprehension. Catharine Teichroew's drawing series began when her husband purchased an old photo album at the Underground Cafe. She was taken by the characters and bewildered as to why they were sold in the first place. She felt a need to resurrect these once important and forgotten ancestors photographs into albums. Catharine Teichroew was born and raised in Dryden Ontario, and moved to Winnipeg to study Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. She transfered to the Faculty of Education with the intent of teaching high school art. She has taught both photography and visual arts in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division for 12 years Event Dates November 18 - November 30, 2010 Address Organization: Cre8ery Gallery Cre8ery Gallery, 2nd fl. - 125 Adelaide Street Hours Opening reception:Thursday, November 18th @ 7pm - 11pm.Gallery Hours: Mon 11am - 10pm, Tues & Wed 12-5pm, Thurs 12-5pm, 6-10pm and Fri/Sat/Sun 12-5pm.
