She is an educator and learner by day, and a small business owner and beader in her spare time. Fourteen years ago, Julie fell in love with beading and decided to learn more by taking a full-day workshop led by Métis artist, Gregory Scofield. Beadwork has since been an important part of her life and a reminder of who she is and where she comes from. Every project she works on, big or small, and each class she teaches, with well-versed beaders or beginners, comes with new teachings, new tricks and more history. As a proud Métis woman and teacher, she believes in the importance of sharing the art of beadwork so that it can continue to represent the creativity, strength and resilience of our Métis Nation.
