As diverse as her scenic landscapes, Canada is truly a multicultural country filled with colourful, vibrant people who hail from all corners of the globe, each with a unique perspective on what it means to be Canadian. To capture that spirit, we've commissioned works by composers from across the country to paint a collaborative Canadian tone poem using the WJO as canvas, with support from the Winnipeg Foundation and Canada 150, for the world premiere of Suite 150 - A Canadian Big Band Portrait.This initiative is made possible by the Community Fund for Canada's 150th, a collaboration between the Winnipeg Foundation, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast.
