"Wilderness Song" is the soundtrack to Jonathan Demme's documentary about Everett Ruess and is based upon his poems and essays. Everett Ruess was last seen leading two burro's into the Utah wilderness in 1934. He was never seen again and his fate is, to this day a mystery. Following his death, his work was collected and published in two books, "On Dessert Trails," and "Everett Ruess: Vagabond for Beauty." It is in these books that Dan has found the inspiration for his 15 song-cycle.
