In a magnanimous gesture marking the longstanding friendship and artistic exchanges between Winnipeg and Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Walker Art Centre will also be lending eight European and American masterworks to the exhibition! Canadian artists represented in the exhibition include Cornelius Krieghoff, Paul Kane, James Wilson Morrice, Tom Thomson, Lawren Harris, Emily Carr, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Mary Pratt, Jeff Wall, Jane Ash Poitras, and Wanda Koop. It is a rare occasion when a gallery can ask for the very best from a sister institution, and the WAG's Centennial is one of those times.
