Secret of the Cardboard Rocket Saturday and Sunday @ 11:30am a 2pm After borrowing an astronomy book from the library, two creative children build a cardboard rocket and take off on an imagination-powered tour of the solar system. 35 minutes; recommended for families with children aged 8 and under. Light Years from Andromeda Saturday and Sunday @ 1 a 4pm; Tuesday to Friday @ 2:30pm This show discusses the concepts of light speed, the light year and how astronomers use them to measure distances to some familiar celestial objects and gives a fascinating look at how light and distance allow us to "look back" further in time as we gaze farther into space. 30 minutes; recommended for audiences aged 10 and up. Manitoba Skies Saturday and Sunday @ 3pm This live show begins with a look at the current month's night sky, including visible constellations, planets, and celestial events. As ever-changing as the night sky, this show features rotating topics such as the Milky Way, currently visible planets, meteor showers and northern lights. 35 minutes; general audience. div.
