My subject matter is usually something very common, or scenery that is not necessarily very remarkable, yet, it holds something that I find fascinating. Many times it is the moment at the cusp of change: the ever changing water surface, ripples, reflections, light effects that at that particular instant dazzle me, and then are gone. Storm by Joan Grandbois: Whatever the wounds that have to heal, the movement of creation assures you that all is well, that one is still in tune with the universe, that the inner chaos can be proved & distilled into order & beauty.
